Einleitung
As a Platform Engineer (m/f/x), you are part of our Infrastructure & Operations (IO) department. We see ourselves as the technical backbone of Nitrado. Our shared purpose is to provide a highly available and scalable infrastructure that enables a seamless experience for millions of players worldwide. Your Team & Your Focus: Within IO, you will join our Platform Team, which is responsible for our internal hosting platforms for containers and virtual machines. In your role, you will ensure the stability and security of our platform services and, through consistent automation (IaC), ensure that our on-prem stack remains as flexible and scalable as a cloud environment. The Tech Stack you can look forward to: Your daily toolkit consists of Kubernetes (Rancher), Ceph, Prometheus/VictoriaMetrics, HashiCorp Vault, and a KVM-based VM platform. We value technical depth and genuine troubleshooting expertise at the Linux level.
Your mission
You are responsible for the operation of our on-prem Kubernetes clusters via Rancher and ensure their stability, security, and continuous updates. You optimize our metrics infrastructure (e.g., Prometheus / VictoriaMetrics) through targeted tuning, alerting, and retention management. You are the owner of central services such as Grafana, Harbor, and HashiCorp Vault and ensure their high availability. You manage our storage solutions (Ceph and/or Linstor) and confidently master capacity planning, upgrades, and troubleshooting. You further develop our KVM-based VM platform, automate provisioning, and guarantee high-performance resource distribution. You maintain our logging environment (e.g., OpenSearch) from the ingestion process to index management and data retention. If there is a hitch anywhere, you get to the bottom of the problem and analyze the cause methodically – whether at the Linux/VM, network, storage, or application level. You eliminate manual effort through consistent automation and standardization (e.g., via runbooks and IaC). You work closely with the dev teams, help with platform topics, and ensure that deployments and operations function well.
Your profile
Several years of experience in infrastructure or platform operations (e.g., as a DevOps / Platform Engineer). In-depth knowledge of administration and troubleshooting in productive Linux environments. Proficient with Kubernetes, ideally on-prem. Practical experience with monitoring/metrics (Prometheus and/or VictoriaMetrics). Experience with container registries (e.g., Harbor) and common container/Helm workflows. Experience with Vault (or a comparable secrets solution) – policies/auth/secret lifecycle are not foreign concepts to you. Knowledge of Ceph and/or Linstor or similar distributed storage solutions. You think and work in a structured manner, use ticketing systems like Jira and document consistently, stay calm during incidents, and communicate clearly with the team.

Deine Aufgaben

Dein Profil
Mehrjährige Erfahrung im Infrastruktur- oder Plattformbetrieb (z. B. als DevOps / Platform Engineer) Tiefgehende Kenntnisse in der Administration und im Troubleshooting produktiver Linux-Umgebungen. Sicherer Umgang mit Kubernetes, idealerweise on-prem. Praktische Erfahrung mit Monitoring/Metrics (Prometheus und/oder VictoriaMetrics). Erfahrung mit Container-Registrys (z. B. Harbor) und gängigen Container-/Helm-Workflows. Erfahrung mit Vault (oder einer vergleichbaren Secrets-Lösung) – Policies/Auth/Secret-Lifecycle sind für dich keine Fremdwörter. Kenntnisse in Ceph und/oder Linstor oder vergleichbaren Distributed-Storage-Lösungen. Du denkst und arbeitest strukturiert, nutzt Ticketsysteme wie Jira und dokumentierst konsequent, bewahrst bei Incidents die Ruhe und kommunizierst klar mit dem Team.
